About Us

Saca Sabella Farms is a hidden hilltop sanctuary in the beautiful Lovall Valley of Sonoma, founded by Diana and Theresa in 2006.

Diana’s parents immigrated to the U.S. from Bethlehem, Palestine, where they had a large olive tree orchard and farm.  Diana’s family milled their own olive oil using old-fashioned stone ground milling and their goods were used by the entire village.  Growing up, olive oil was the cornerstone of every meal.

Theresa is a fourth generation Sicilian San Franciscan, where family and food are at the heart of everything. Growing up working in the family’s Fisherman’s Wharf Italian seafood restaurant, Theresa was dipping sourdough into olive oil before she learned to tie her shoes.

It was a natural progression for Diana and Theresa to own land where olive trees and organic produce could be grown. This is that magical place.

Our Story

Theresa and Diana agreed without hesitation that their vision for the farm began with growing and pressing their own olives. 50 trees and a few gallons of oil quickly evolved into 225 trees and too much oil to simply share with family and friends.

The olives became the very essence and soul of this land.

They represent strength, beauty and peace.  In 2017, fires ravaged Sonoma County and the land of Saca Sabella Farms. Firefighters drew a fire-line at the olive grove and fought through the night. The next morning, they told Theresa and Diana β€” β€œyour olive trees saved you.” Many trees in the first row burned, yet they were able to save the rest and the structures as well.  The olive trees are a living reminder that we all share the land together.

Picked with care

Our olives are grown on our family-run farm and are picked by hand each year during our much-anticipated harvest. A day looked forward to and cherished by our closest community, where our olives are picked and pressed locally on the same dayβ€” ensuring that they are the freshest they can be.

We emphasize organic & biodynamic practices year round, and create a regenerative eco-system where diverse life can flourish. This includes our organic garden with rotating varieties of fruits, vegetables, herbs and edible flowers. Saca Sabella Farms is a dream come to life that honors tradition, ancestry, and the intricate relationship between humans and the land.
